So.

Mitsuhide is a bag of cats full of crazy. Bag of cats mange kind of crazy. He has a very flippant type of personality where he will sometimes purposely attempt to anger someone so that they'll beat on him (read: serious masochist) and takes a great amount of pleasure in it. Rarely does he actually want to hurt anyone, but on the days that he does, it usually is because he wants to make friends. So he doesn't mean anything negative about it -- he never has any malicious intent.

There is also the issue of actually talking to Mitsuhide. He does not respond like normal people do. He never gets mad and is always laughing. Anyone can do anything to him and he will never hold a grudge or get angry about it. (The only time he ever got angry in canon is because someone refused to kill him.) Most of the time, when he's Mitsuhide, he speaks in half-sentences where you might not understand what he's saying. When he's "Tenkai," he speaks a lot more intellectually and able to be generally understood.

To sum up, here's how it goes. There are a few OPT-OUTs, essentially.

1. Lemme know if you never want him to attempt to indulge his masochistic ways with your character.
2. Lemme know if you don't want to deal with having to decode what insanity he's saying. (I understand it can be super frustrating to talk to him, especially without a translator around.)
3. Lemme know if he's just so flipping weird that you just don't want to have to deal with him.

And that's it. Sometimes, he says weird flirty things, but generally speaking, he's just being weirdly friendly. So, there you go.
